Hickory Ridge Village Board Election

Thank you to all of you that came out to vote in the Hickory Ridge Village Board elections.  I was successful in winning re-election.  This is a great opportunity for me to continue to serve the community.  My number on goal in any elected position is to serve the community.  Unfortunately I think that some of our elected officials have forgotten this and are more about doing what they think is best, and not necessarily what is best for the community.  Our country was founded based on the idea of a citizen legislature, not a career politician.  It is common sense that if your only job has been to be an elected official then you have not faced the same day to day trials of everyday citizens.  My opponent was first elected to public office five days after I was born in 1976.  Talk about entrenched in the political process, this is the dictionary definition of a political insider.  Our community needs someone who was born and raised in this community, who is actively involved in the community, and who has not forgotten about community service.  Someone who understands what it is like to be an everyday normal resident of Howard County.  As a member of the Hickory Ridge Village Board I will continue to work everyday to improve our community,  and if I am elected to serve you in Annapolis I will take this same passion and understanding of your needs with me everyday.
